CONGRATULATIONS!!! To Roderic Gatewood on being the winner of the Veteran’s
Day Essay Contest for the National Cemetery Ceremony at Mound City- As a
winner Roderic read his essay at the Veteran’s Day program held in Mound City.
Roderic, WE are PROUD of you! You Represent Meridian and Show your Meridian

This week is American Education Week November 14 th -18 th , 2022
Thursday – Nerd Day! – Polo shirt, glasses, suspenders, dress as a stereotypical nerd!
Friday – School Spirit Day! - Represent Meridian and wear your best red and white!
This Friday the Treat Trolley will be in the gym during your class time. If you do NOT
have P.E. you may come at any time your teacher allows. You may ONLY buy from the
Trolley during your class period. All Bobcat Bucks MUST have a teacher's signature and
your name. Otherwise, they will not be accepted.
Meridian Jr. High Girls Basketball game for tonight against Anna has been postponed
and will be rescheduled for a later date.
There will be a High School Beta Club meeting today at 3:05 p.m. in Ms. Harris Room #22.
Attention ALL SENIORS and 8th GRADERS: Jostens will be here on December 7th. He will
arrive around 8:30 and start with the 8th graders. He will meet with the sophomores around
9:35. Then he will start on the Seniors. Any Seniors or 8th graders who are not here that day
can be measured by the nurse. He will need your height and weight measurements. The cap,
gown, and tassel will be $34. The deadline is March 31st .
Attention Students: NO students should be on the stage unless you have permission to do
so.
No one should be on the grassy area south of the high school where the marquee is
located till further notice this is a construction site they are installing the school new
solar panels.
Today during Lunch all Junior High Beta Club members will meet in Ms. Summers room
during the lunch block. You will get your tray and come to room 25. All current members
and those who have received an invitation should attend.
The Senior meeting scheduled for lunch today has been cancelled.
If anyone is interested in the Junior Class Club sign-up sheets are in the front office.
During home games no one should go past the gray fire doors during the games unless you
have permission to do so!
Tomorrow, Nov 18th sophomores will be going to Herrin –SICCUM for a tour and
educational seminar the bus will leave at 8:15 am. We will return at approximately 11:15
am for lunch.
Senior Scholarship Opportunity – 1,000 dollar Save the Abandoned babies Foundation
Scholarship --See guidance if interested!
The Hagan Scholarship Foundation is available for any senior interested in attending a 4
year college with a GPA of 3.5 the deadline to apply for this scholarship is December 1 st
Please see guidance.
Seniors the PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization) Scholarship is available in the
guidance office. One of the main criteria to apply for this scholarship is that you have to
attend 4 PTSO meetings. The meetings will take place every 2 nd Wednesday of each month
at 6pm. Please see guidance if interested.
Activities:
Century 21 Enrichment in both buildings till 5 p.m.
HS Boys Basketball Red & White Game in HS Gym @ 6 p.m.
There will be No Cheerleader practices today
MS Girls Basketball will not practice
HS Girls Basketball practice HS Gym 3-5 p.m.
MS Boys Basketball Will Not practice
